Right out of the box I have to say that I am already in love with it.
The minute that I turned it on it went straight into a setup mode that let me input my highs and lows, and other personal information. Then something else that really caught my eye was that I noticed that the display was in COLOR! It has an onboard log book that keeps track of all of my glucose levels, and shows me charts of what things look like, and trends. It also doubles as a 500mb thumb drive, which really gives it some nice extra functionality.
Also preloaded on this little guy is software that when you plug the Bayer Couture USB into your computer, loads up tracking software that allows for a desktop version of your logbook. Another great feature is the fact that the battery is rechargeable, and there is no coding. Now I truthfully never understood why coding was such a big deal, but hey its code free. The rechargeable battery is nice and save's $8.00 on the battery that most of these use. I had an AccuCheck Advantage, and that is how much the battery cost me every time I had to replace it.
This meter even comes with a USB to AC adapter that you can just plug into any standard wall socket and charge it, if you don't want it using a USB port. I was really happy when I saw this adapter, because that means that I could use it on my other USB charge devices like my iPod.
All and all I have to say that I really love this meter, and whole heartedly recommend it to anyone who is just a little nerdy, and loves technology, or for those who want to better log their Glucose levels. I love my One Touch UltraMini, but am quickly falling in love with my new Bayer Conture USB.
About time! Someone made information actually easy to find. Apparently not. Anyway, thanks for this! I appreciate it!
