Nick, now 19, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 13. He is passionate about helping other young people with diabetes through efforts to educate, support and inspire. Nick Jonas Awarded for Diabetes Awareness

Nick Jonas, from the popular music group The Jonas Brothers, accepted an award today from the Diabetes Research Institute at the organization’s annual fundraiser event Carnival For A Cure. The 6th Annual Carnival For A Cure was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. The sold out, family friendly event included entertainment, food, games for toddlers, children and teens as well as prizes for the whole family. The 6th Annual Carnival For A Cure also included a silent auction which help raise much needed funds for the non-profit.

Nick Jonas donated a one-of-a-kind autographed guitar which auctioned off during the silent auction. In addition to his donation, Nick Jonas was recognized by the Diabetes Research Institute for his generosity to the organization in both and money. The organization presented Nick Jonas with a plaque which was signed by members of the Diabetes Research Institute thanking him for his dedication to the organization.

In addition to a Nick Jonas signed guitar, there were two additional stand-out items on the auction block. Taylor Swift donated an autographed guitar and there was a Jets Fans package which included two tickets to a Jets game of the winner’s choice as well as an autographed football from Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez.
